LOADING AND TRANSPORTATION OF EARTH MASSES
UTAVAR I TRANSPORT ZEMLJANIH MASA
The problem of earthmoving depends very much on transportation distances, and engineers on site are confronted with a large choice of equipment. This article illustrates the loading and transportation of earth masses using loaders in combination with dump trucks. It is evident that for transportation distances which are under the optimum, the trucks are not used satisfactorily as they are kept waiting. At these distances it would be necessary to increase the number or capacity of loaders. The article deals with the choice of loading machine for various distances and transportation speeds. /TRRL/
