MEASUREMENTS OF INTERNAL STRAINS BY NINE-GAUGE DEVICES
An assembly of nine vibrating-wire strain gauges designed for the measurement of internal strain is described. Tests have been carried out on concrete specimens containing nine-gauge devices of different size and stiffness. The processing of the gauge readings is outlined and the results of the test series are critically discussed. /Author/TRRL/
