Assignment of traffic flow using the analogous current flow in an electric circuit has previously been confined to the simple network in which there exist several alternative routes in parallel. In this paper, however, traffic assignment will be considered on the assumption that the highway network has a single concentrating node and that vehicles which start from every node have a common destination. Current flow on each arc, current generated from each node, voltage of each node for the concentrating node, and the difference of voltages between two nodes correspond to traffic volume on each arc, origin-destination traffic volume, travel time between each node and the common destination, and travel time between the two nodes, respectively. The travel time function which is defined as a relation between traffic flow and its travel time on arcs must be given so as to be a finite time even through the traffic flow approaches to zero. In addition, the passing time through each node is introduced to the travel time function, because the passing time can not be neglected as the nodes correspond to intersections or towns. The flow pattern obtained by this method satisfies the equal travel time principle. Several examples are shown in this paper. /TRRL/
