PROPOSED PRESTRESSED CONCRETE FLOATING TERMINAL FOR ARCTIC OCEAN SERVICE

Construction of a very large prestressed concrete barge, using its mass, shape, and length in effective combination to continuously break the ice, and able to move laterally in the event of ice-island encounter is contemplated. The first component of a terminal structure, the floating terminal is explored, and possible solutions are suggested for the subsequent components of mooring, riser, and offloading connections, needed to make the system viable.
