ESTIMATION OF THE CONTENT OF CLAY MINERALS AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE IN STONE DECAY

AVALIACAO DO TEOR EM MINERAIS ARGILOSOS E A SUA IMPORTANCIA NA DEGADACAO DE MATERIAIS ROCHOSOS NATURAIS

The author presents some comments on the method available for estimating the content of clay minerals in natural rock materials basically as regards their application in civil engineering. Two procedures which in some cases may complement other methods for predicting the behaviour of rock materials are presented and discussed, on the basis of the results they have yielded.
