MANEUVERABILITY OF LARGE SHIPS. STUDIES CONDUCTED BY THE SPANISH SHIP RESEARCH ASSOCIATION

MANIOBRABILIDAD DES GRANDES BUGUES. ESTUDIOS REALIZADOS POR LA AICN

Maneuverability of ships with high block coefficient and full forms has become a problem in the field of ship design. In this paper some results of tests with several types of hull and configuration of rudders are given. Although there are some matters that will necessitate more investigation and tests, general conclusions are drawn, and a lot of graphics concerning the results of analysis of the tests are given. This research has been carried out by the Spanish Ship Research Association (A.I.C.N.).
