CATALYTIC CONVERTER TEMPERATURES TESTED
Catalytic converter exhaust systems have been accused of presenting greater fire risk than non-converter systems, due to higher operating temperatures. Recent tests reveal that converter-equipped cars carry no greater hazard than non-converter equipped cars unless an ignition system malfunction occurs. /GMRL/
