STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY MONITORING BY VIBRATION ANALYSIS
The practicability of a new system to monitor the structural integrity of offshore platforms has been successfully demonstrated under North Sea conditions. The first allows an overall assessment of platform integrity to be made from measurements taken above the water line. The second approach is an accelerated diving inspection whereby a driver can assess the integrity of a structural member and its nodes without having to clean off large areas of metal surface.
