MECHANIZED TUNNEL WASHER
The paper reports that the California Division of Highways has developed a tunnel washing machine that expedites the washing of vehicle tunnel walls, reduces traffic obstructions, and offers an improved worker safety. An electrohydraulic control system that expands or contracts the vehicle to fit 700-lb rotary scrub brushes into different sized tunnels is outlined.
