CRAFT CONTROL : PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR ARE JOINING TOGETHER TO BENEFIT FROM A TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM TO EASE VENICE'S UNIQUE TRAFFIC PROBLEMS

This article describes a traffic management system implemented in Venice, Italy, to handle the movement of traffic through the city's waterways. Vessels are equipped with a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver, display monitors, engine sensors, and a transmitting unit.
