STRESS 74- THE VTI PRESSURE SENSOR FOR STRESS MEASUREMENT IN AND UNDER PAVEMENTS
STRESS 74-VTI:S TRYCKGIVARE FOER SPAENNINGSMAETNING I OCH UNDER VAEGOEVERBYGGNADER
This is a description of the pressure sensor Stress 74 and of a few basic factors in connection with simple stress measurements in road research. The pressure sensor stress 74 is of a so called membrane type and registers the mean normal pressure on this membrane. The sensitivity of the pressure during ideal conditions is determined by a hydrostatic calibration procedure and the sensor is also calibrated when installed in the ground. This calibration should be made in laboratory as well as in situ. Of importance is a well standardized installation procedure. Pressure sensor deviation is determined by calibration and theoretical calculations. Finally some fields of application for pressure sensors are mentioned. /TRRL/
