EFFECT OF CACO3 ADDITION ON PROPERTIES OF UNSATURATED POLYESTER CONCRETE

The present work studies the effect of CaCO3 addition, as a non-organic filler material, on the setting, dielectric strength and mechanical properties of unsaturated polyester concrete. The results incidate that CaCO3 addition significantly increases the setting time of unsaturated polyester concrete, although it slightly decreases the dielectric strength and mechanical properties. The mechanisms of these effects are also discussed based on microstructural studies and thermal analysis.
