CRACKING IN HIGH STRENGTH CONCRETE AT EARLY AGES

The overall aim of the project is to generate relevant data on concrete properties, and to use them to develop a methodology for planning and control of the production of concrete structures to develop early age cracking. The methodology is based directly on stress and/or strain considerations instead of the previous methodologies based on the indirect criteria of allowable temperature differences. Furthermore, special attention is paid to the initial phase (before and during setting) by determination of the volume changes and tensile stress/strain properties in this phase.
