ANALYSIS AND VERIFICATION OF THE PATH AHS COORDINATION-REGULATION LAYERS HYBRID SYSTEM

This paper studies the design of safe velocity tracking controllers for the regulation layer maneuvers in the California PATH automated highway system (AHS) hierarchical architecture. These controllers attempt to keep the maneuver trajectory inside a state dependent safety region, thus completing maneuvers in a minimum time without compromising safety.
