SIMULATION PRE-EMPTS METRO COMMISSIONING PROBLEMS

This article describes the TRain ANalysis and SImulation Tool set (TRANSIT), a computer simulation program that offers simulations of transportation systems. Specific applications described using TRANSIT include: obtaining information about possible headways for trains in relation to the positions of points and signals; identifying the effects of different performance measures; and simulating the interface between existing equipment and new functions.
