L'USAGE DU TELEPHONE AU COURS DES DEPLACEMENTS [TELEPHONE USE WHILE TRAVELING]

This paper presents a summary of research looking at the use of cell phones during daily travel. The initial aim of the work is to describe and measure the prevalence of daily travel phone use. As a second aim, the research attempts to identify the role of telephone in the management of individual daily activities and trips. A conceptual framework is used for the analysis and to characterize mobility patterns in terms of intensity, daily distance and time budget, and the maximization of trip chaining rates.
