IMPLEMENTATION OF AN INTEGRATED TICKETING SYSTEM THE SINGAPORE EXPERIENCE

This paper describes the implementation of the Integrated Ticketing System (ITS) in Singapore. It first looks at the role of TransitLink the public transit integrator. It then describes the accounting system set up by TransitLink. The remainder of the paper focuses on the Integrated Ticketing System and its various components including: farecard, central ticketing computer, pass vending machine automatic vending machines, bus depot computer system, and bus ticketing equipment.
