This report describes a project to develop a training aids module that provides computer-based training on ice recognition, ice climatology, and the Arctic Ice Regime Shipping System for ice navigators. After an introduction on the development of this software, provided are mandatory, highly desirable, and optional requirements for the general architecture of the module, hardware, and software and the general outline of the user interface. Next section reviews a survey of available software used to develop the module and outlines the reasons for selecting WinHelp32 for this application. Section 4 describes the module architecture and contains a user's guide, including sample windows and menus. This is followed by details of the module's development environment so that the software can be maintained. The final section summarizes results of the project and proposes future enhancements and new developments.
