TURN-BY-TURN DISPLAYS VERSUS ELECTRONIC MAPS : AN ON-THE-ROAD COMPARISON OF DRIVER GLANCE BEHAVIOR

This report examines the use of electronic navigation displays while driving. It focused on answering three questions which examined the use of route map and turn-by-turn electronic navigation displays. Through experiments, it was determined which display received the most glances, which driver and road-related factors affected display glances, and when the display glances occurred.
