Sources of more than 5,300 protective and marine coatings for steel and concrete are listed in this journal's 1999 coatings buyers' guide. The guide is intended to help users of protective materials identify sources for products they need. Five major categories of general exposure environments and special purpose materials are given: atmospheric service, immersion service, buried pipe or buried structures, flooring, and specialty function. In most instances, subcategories indicate more detailed exposure conditions, type of structure or vessel to be protected, or specific properties needed in a coating. Further subcategories list generic coating types, such as acrylic. To the right of each company listing, the volatile organic compound (VOC) content range appears in parentheses. A directory of coating company profiles is also included.
