SERIES METHOD OF WIND-INDUCED LATERAL-TORSIONAL BUCKLING FOR LONG-SPAN SUSPENSION BRIDGES

Firstly,a new method used to solve wind-induced lateral-torsional buckling problems for long-span suspension bridges is proposed. Nonlinear influences caused by lift and pitching moment are included in this method. Secondly,formula and flow chart are provided. This method features less inputing data,high calculating speed and convenience for programming. Finally, taking the Jiangyin Changjiang river bridge for example, numerical results are presented to demonstrate the accuracy and effectiveness of this new method.
