EXPEDITED ENVIRONMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS FOR BASE CONVERSION
The environmental clean-up at Bergstrom AFB is a recognized success and was made possible by the close cooperation of all the parties involved. A clear goal, concise plans and reports, dedicated staffing, regular meetings, verbal agency approval and consistency between discussions and actions taken have all contributed to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport opening for business three years ahead of a typical base-closing schedule.
