A DYNAMIC TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MODEL WITH RESPONSIVE SIGNAL CONTROL AND TRAFFIC INFORMATION

Traffic management models are useful for evaluating the various strategies of Intelligent Transportation Systems to reduce the travel time in urban networks. The combined dynamic traffic assignment model with responsive signal control and variable message sign is developed in the paper and the solution algorithm is also developed. The model can be formulated as variational inequality. An example of a contrived network is used to assess impacts of responsive signal control and variable message signs at operational levels.
