GUIDE: GROUP FOR URBAN INTERCHANGES DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION

GUIDE is an international group including a number of large public transport operators in capitals and major cities across Europe. It has been formed in order to: (1) identify and summarise European research carried out on passenger interface issues; (2) establish a framework for collaborative research amongst European urban public transport providers on topics concerned with improving the passenger interface; (3) assess best practice in functional specification and design aspects of the passenger interface, by peer group review of selected case studies; and (4) disseminate the outputs from these activities through publications, the preparation of an illustrated best practice guide, and a European conference of interested parties. The sites for the case studies, reflecting membership of the group, include Athens, Birmingham, London, Manchester, Paris, Lyon, cities in The Netherlands, and Stockholm. For the covering abstract, see IRRD E101143.
