ROAD SUPERVISORS OFFER WINTER COMMENTS, TIPS

This article provides the results of a winter maintenance survey of 300 road supervisors that specifically addressed snow plowing. At several agencies, money was a problem, and service-level demands have increased. Rural areas lack enough employees and updated equipment. The public can be a challenge for all state public agencies. Public expectation has risen, while driver cooperation in avoiding unplowed roads has fallen.
