SHRP/SUPERPAVE: EXPERIENCES OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES

The Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP) was conducted in the United States from 1987 to 1993. One third of the SHRP's budget was devoted to bituminous mixtures and led to the "SUPERPAVE" system. At the end of 1996 the PIARC Technical Committee on Flexible Roads started to evaluate the impact of this program outside the United States. A survey was consucted with the members of the Committee; 23 responses from 21 countries were processed. The article presents the results of the survey.
