Generating grassroots public support for the need to rebuild our country's aging infrastructure is the aim of a new industry-wide campaign being conducted through the Rebuild America Coalition, a group of more than 70 public and private organizations. The coalition conducted a national poll that shows strong support by the American public for infrastructure investment and support for increased federal funding to accomplish infrastructure renewal. The study also revealed that Americans are willing to pay a little more in taxes if they know the money will be spent to improve the infrastructure. Of all the developed countries in the world, the United States spends the lowest percentage of its Gross Domestic Product on infrastructure.
