MARKETING A MODAL SWITCH - FROM METRO+PLUS TO LOCAL MOTION. FINAL REPORT

The purpose of this project was to develop an innovative, cost-effective, and replicable program designed to reduce individual passenger's fears regarding public transit and to encourage modal switching from Metro+Plus paratransit to local motion accessible fixed route service. The first implementation of this program was designed for Madison, Wisconsin, but the program can be replicated in any community where there is a desire to try and shift riders from paratransit service to an accessible fixed route alternative. If a transit education program is not already in place in a specific community, the material from this project can be adapted to reflect any local public transit system.
