THIRD REPORT OF THE ADVISORY PANEL ON CONCRETE ROAD CONSTRUCTION (1974-75)

This third report of the Advisory Panel on Concrete Road Construction describes the work undertaken during the period March 1974 to December 1975. Sixteen sites under construction have been visited and additionally five sites now in normal service were seen as part of the feedback work of the panel. Good concrete roads have been built during the review period but problems have arisen at some sites at these are outlined in the report. More detailed comments are given on transverse joint grooves, riding quality, paving plant and sub-bases. The panel has increasingly been involved in matters relating to concrete road construction in general and has liaised with working parties and overseas engineers. /Author/TRRL/
