FEEDBACK DESIGN METHOD FOR TUNNEL EXCAVATION

LA METHODE DE LA RETRO-ANALYSE POUR LA CONCEPTION DE TRAVAUX DE TUNNEL

Based on the time-space effect theory in tunnel excavation, active protection approach to the ground movement which varied from the traditional passive protection method such as grouting, deep mixing, etc. is presented. The obtained field data were used for backward calculation with the bar system finite element method to get the key parameter Kh which denotes equivalent lateral coefficient of subgrade reaction. From the backward calculation, it is evident that the Kh varies with such factors as soil property, excavation level, stress path. When the backward calculated parameter Kh is put into forward calculation and design, the agreement is encouraging between the predicted and in situ measured adjacent ground movement magnitude for both lining of the tunnel and braced excavation being constructed for Shanghai Metro Line No. 2.
