VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION WARRENTON QUALITY INITIATIVE
In the Fall of 1995, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) had initiated department-wide strategic planning: mission, values, and goals developed through employee involvement. Culpeper District and Warrenton Residency were seeking a pro-active approach to implement these values and strategic goals, as well as create a customer and quality-oriented learning environment for employees. The Warrenton Residency, Culpeper District, and Central Office worked together to develop an initiative that would demonstrate commitment to VDOT's values, quality, customer service and employee growth. This paper documents the work that was done, and the results of that work.
