MONTANA'S MAINTENANCE QUALITY CONTROL REVIEW PROCESS

The perceived lack of quality has plagued highway maintenance personnel for years. Four years ago the Montana Department of Transportation's Maintenance Division embarked on a new Quality Control Review Process of its maintenance activities. The goal was to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of every maintenance activity for the betterment of the traveling public. Three primary objectives were identified for the process to be an effective tool for the Maintenance Program: a statewide Quality Control Review of every maintenance activity; Technology Innovation; and Technology Transfer.
