In this Pilot-Study a profile of requirements has been developed on the basis of a theoretical analysis of the proceedings when entering a highway. It includes the conflicts concerning behaviour which is demanded of the driver, namely considerations of safety on the one hand, and of fluency of traffic on the other hand. In fact, these conflicting behaviour intentious lead to a frequency-distribution of incorrect behaviour which can be observed empirically. This analysis of the profile of requirements, the observation of the actual driving-behaviour and the following interview indicated the reasons for the observed incorrect types of behaviour. From these results conclusions concerning constructional and legal improvements for entires to highways were drawer. /Author/
