EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON ANTI-POLISHING PROPERTY OF FINE AGGREGATES
This paper deals with the polishing experiments results of two series of fine aggregate. One is cement mortar polishing, to investigate the influence of calcium carbonate on polishing mortar value(PMV); another is sand paper polishing, to study the effects of different test method. The equipment used were English accelerated polishing machine(English Wheel) and German Wehner-Schulze Machine. The main conclusions are drawn as following: the content of calcium carbanate has little influence on PMV, whereas sand paper polishing test can detect the anti-polishing property of fine aggregate efficiently; in the sand paper test, the particle size has strong effecton the test results.
