DEVELOPMENT OF SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNET FOR LINEAR GENERATOR OF MAGLEV

As a promising method to provide on-board service power at running of superconducting Maglev vehicles, a linear generating system is being investigated, in which reaction high harmonic magnetic fields generated by the levitation normal coils on the guideway produces an electromotive force in the generator coils on the outer vessel surface of the on-board superconducting magnet. To obtain larger power in this linear generation system, a superconducting magnet with a short distance between the sectional center of a superconducting coil and the outer surface was developed; the outer vessel has hollow parts. This paper describes the construction of the superconducting magnet developed and manufactured on trial as well as the electromagnetic disturbance test results.
