FEBRUARY TRAFFIC DEATHS INCREASE 1%
Motor vehicle deaths in February 1998 totaled 2,900, an increase of 1% from the February 1997 total of 2,880. Deaths for the first 2 months of 1998 totaled 6,110, a decrease of 2% from the 1997 total of 6,230. Tables give traffic death figures by states for 1996, 1997, and 1998, as well as deaths by months for 1995, 1996, 1997, and 1998. A map illustrates the changes in motor vehicle deaths by state.
