A DESIGN METHOD FOR MODIFIED BITUMEN AND ITS MIXTURE

A design method for modified bitumen and its mixture is put forward in this paper. The selection principles of modifiers and bitumens are discussed. The method for determining the content of modifiers and binders is introduced as well as the modified technique. It is pointed out that, (1) the common failures of the pavements should be considered when modifiers are selected; (2) the bitumens should have high grades, compatibility should be a condition, when bitumens are selected.
