FRENCH DESIGN MANUAL FOR PAVEMENT STRUCTURES
The principles set out in this technical guide, translated into English, relate to the structural design of road pavements (not including uncoated and paved roads). The basis of the French desi method makes it applicable to all road classes from low volume ro through to motorways. This book is in six parts: (1) pavement des method; (2) relationship between pavement design options and road management systems; (3) surface course; (4) pavement foundation; pavement materials; (6) design of new pavements. There are 7 appendices including: a glossary of terms used; a list of current national French design (NF) standards; calculation of pavement da from traffic. The title of the French version is: Conception et dimensionnement des structures de chaussee - Guide technique).
