FIRE-RETARDANT TREATED WOOD STUD LOAD BEARING WALL PASSES ASTM 2-HR. FIRE TEST

The test results in this report revealed that a FR-S type fire retardant treated wood stud load-bearing wall system with a cement stucco finish will meet the performance requirements of a standard fire test for a period in excess of two hours, and will withstand the standard hose stream test after one hour fire exposure. Both tests were conducted in accordance with ASTM Designation E 119, Fire Tests of Building Construction and Materials, and were performed by laboratory personnel in the Structural Research Laboratory, Richmond Field Station, of the University of California, Berkeley. The report tells how the wall system supported a live load of 2.225 lbs. per lineal foot during fire tests and 53,400 pounds per lineal foot after one hour fire and hose stream test. At no point during test did the hose stream break through the wall. /Author/
