FIRE-RETARDANT TREATED WOOD STUD 24-INCH O.C. NON-LOAD BEARING WALL

This report provides details on a successful fire resistive test conducted by the U.S. Forest Products Laboratory. The assembly tested consisted of fire retardant treated wood studs spaced on 24 inch centers. The partition was covered on both sides by 5/8 in. Type X gypsum wallboard. The test was conducted in accordance with ASTM Designation E 119 for non-bearing partitions. It was run in two parts: 1) fire-endurance 2) hose-stream. The report tells how the partition successfully passed the fire-endurance test, which was conducted for 65.6 minutes, and the hose- stream test which was applied at the end of 32.5 minutes and resulted in no openings being developed through the unexposed side. /Author/
