THE USE OF HONEYCOMB SANDWICH CONSTRUCTION IN RECREATIONAL VEHICLES

The energy shortage has made the need for high strength, light weight materials an increasingly important concern in the Recreational Vehicle Industry. One solution is the honeycomb sandwich construction technique, which combines the advantages of strength, stiffness and drastically reduced weight and is versatile enough to meet a variety of design requirements. This technique is discussed and compared to other methods of vehicle construction. /HSRI/
