TRANSPORT DEMAND MANAGEMENT IN THE NETHERLANDS
This memorandum provides a survey of the developments and current state of affairs pertaining to transport demand management in the Netherlands. The memorandum is the first product of a European study into transport demand management. What it comes down to, briefly, is that the European Commission, within the framework of its DG VII's Transport RTD Programme, wishes: (1) to combine existing know-how and experience in the area of European transport demand management; and (2) to establish what the potential contribution of transport demand management could be in solving congestion, environmental and accessibility issues in Europe, by carrying out a number of demonstration projects. (A) For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 887581.
