STUDY OF A COMPREHENSIVE METHOD FOR FORECASTING TRAFFIC VOLUME OF THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY NETWORK
A comprehensive method for forecasting the traffic volume of regional arterial highway networks is presented, which is the combination of four-step method with general volume control method. According to the characteristics of highway networks, some problems such as the improvement of traffic assignment method, the gravity model method for forecasting OD matrices according to link traffic count data, and the forecast of the OD matrices in objective plan years, are analyzed and studied in this paper. The application of the method to the arterial highway network in Heilongjiang province is introduced.
