The GM TRANSBUS, designed and built as part of a program of the Urban Mass Transportation Administration, features a number of design departures from present production coaches including a significantly lower floor; an independent front suspension; a special kneeling feature; a U-shaped lounge; improved air-conditioning, heating, and exhaust systems to provide a year-round, fume-free, temperature-controlled internal environment. This GM TRANSBUS is powered by a Detroit Diesel Allison gas turbine. Volume 3 is the Appendix. (Portions of this document are not fully legible.)
