OPERATIONAL EXPERIENCE OF "EUROLINER" CLASS GAS TURBINE CONTAINER SHIPS

The paper presents an evaluation of vessels' performance as opposed to predicted performance. Apart from operational costs, the gas turbine contribution to economic validity lies mainly in reduced first cost and reliability of operation. So far the barriers to fulfillment of the reliability contention have been the twin problems of sulphidation and turbine blade failures.
