THE USE OF A PLASTIC FOIL FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF AN EARTH DAM
During the reconstruction and raising of an earth dam, there were some difficulties in obtaining suitable materials: the grading of the materials used in the filtration layer was not satisfactory and seepage through the dam was too extensive. It was then decided to use a pvc plastic foil as new grout curtain. The contact shearing strength was determined. This solution appeared to be very satisfactory, seepage having markedly decreased as a result. For the covering abstract of the conference. /TRRL/
