EVALUATION OF ECOLOGICAL IMPACTS FROM HIGHWAY DEVELOPMENT
The purpose of this report is to provide guidance for the analysis of ecological impacts from highway development activities and the evaluation of related ecosystem mitigation measures. A primary focus of this report are the potential mitigations that may be implemented during highway planning, design, construction, and operation. Many of the degrading activities and accompanying ecological impacts associated with highway development are also relevant to other construction-based projects such as power generation and industrial or residential development. By providing detailed guidance on both ecological analysis and mitigation, this report should improve the environmental impact assessments for a wide range of development activities.
