NEW RHEOLOGICAL MODEL FOR SOIL BEHAVIOR-CLOSURE

Comments are made on the model which has the merits of not only idealizing the creep behavior of a compacted clay but also systematizing the changes of rheological state due to changes of water content and stress level. The phenomenon of thixotropy often associated with the disturbed clays is noted. Due to the fact that the relation between the gain in shear strength with time (due to thixotropy) and the rheological parameters is little known at present, research in this regard may be vitally urgent.
