MULTIVARIABLE CONTROLLER DESIGN FOR MARINE STEAM GENERATING SYSTEMS

Control schemes for marine steam generating systems have been based on servomechanisms design principles in the past even though the plate exhibits multivariable characteristics. Consequently many of the situations arising which require manual control to be resorted may have their origins in incorrectly structured feedback configurations. In this paper the problem of constructing feedback strategies using the multivariable input - output map of the plant are considered using a recently formulated frequency response method. To illustrate the procedure a digital computer study of a Naval boiler is included together with open and closed loop simulations of the system.
