TRAIN CONTROL SYSTEM ON YAMANASHI MAGLEV TEST LINE

The Maglev train is driven by linear motor with primary side on ground and the control taking place on the ground. Therefore, the ground equipment and on board equipment are controlled by supervising on the ground. The speed of the Maglev train is adjustable by current amplitude and frequency through inverters at the power conversion substation. The train control system has been developed on the basis of the automatic train operation for conventional railroads which is composed of the traffic control system, the drive control system and the safety control system. In Yamanashi test line now under construction, the facility monitoring system and the large display system that indicates any detail in the components of the train control system that monitors the running state and collects characteristic data are equipped. This paper describes train control system, monitoring and measurement system, train position detection system and information transmission system Yamanashi test line.
